FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

FAQ: FAQ

WHERE DO THERAPY SESSIONS TAKE PLACE?

Therapy sessions can take place in any facility which you reside (home, retirement/LTC home, hospital, or any inpatient medical facility) We also offer community based programming where if the client is willing and able, the session will take place out in the community.

ARE THERE ADDITIONAL COSTS?

Depending on your session and the materials used, there may be some (minimal) extra costs. All supplies, admissions and mileage will be an additional cost. For example, if your therapy session is Therapeutic Swimming and you require transportation, there will be extra fees for the mileage to the recreation facility as well as the cost of admission to the pool.

HOW LONG ARE SESSIONS?

Therapy sessions are a minimum of 2 hours in duration, provided on a weekly basis. You can decide how many hours per week you would like depending on your therapeutic needs and goals. Our free consultation will help you navigate this and find the best schedule to fit you or your loved ones needs.

DO YOU OFFER ONLINE THERAPY?

Restore Recreation Therapy offers a free initial consulation in which we can evaluate if online therapy is the best fit for you. Primarily we prefer to do sessions in person, however we understand with current times that this may be a need for some and we are more than happy to accommodate your needs.

IS RECREATION THERAPY JUST "PLAY"?

From the outside, it may seem like Recreational Therapy is just "play", but the activities are therapeutic and tailored specifically to each individual. Each client will have an initial assessment completed, identifying individual strengths, needs and therapeutic goals. The therapeutic activities will then be implemented to reach set goals, and facilitate change. Recreation Therapy is a formal treatment style conducted by trained experts.
